Appalachian Grass

The original Appalachian Grass was traditional but also progressive and a very professional bluegrass group in the Cincinnati area. The early band included Jim McCall on guitar and vocals, Katie Laur on vocals, Vernon “Junior” McIntyre on banjo, David Cox on mandolin, and Dalen Jackson on bass. After Jim McCall left the band, Vernon McIntyre switched to guitar and lead vocals and continued on as the leader with numerous personnel changes over the years, the most consistent member being Vernon’s wife Kitty on fiddle. Other long-time members include Robert Campbell on banjo and Tammy Powers on bass.
