Artist’s Recording Co.

Located at 320 Mill Street in the Lockland area of Cincinnati, Artist’s Recording was both a studio and a pressing plant. President of the corporation was Carrol Rawlings. Vic Clay and Jr. Bennett worked as engineers there. They recorded a lot of gospel, some bluegrass, and some country. The pressing plant did work for King Bluegrass, Pine Tree, Melody, Central, and Vetco. Several of the bluegrass LPs on King Bluegrass were pressed there, including Larry Sparks, Ralph Stanley, and Reno and Harrell. Central LPs pressed there included the Dixie Ryders and the Darby Drifters. The company was started in the late 1960s, was very active in the 1970s and 1980s, and closed in the early 1990s.
