Barrelhead Gang

Smokey Ward’s radio troupe, when he was at WPFB in Middletown, was known as the Barrelhead Gang. Some of the musicians that were a part of the group at various times included Jimmy Martin, J.D. Crowe, Jim and Jesse McReynolds, Fairley Holden, Jo DePew and Wayne Tilford (Midkiff), and the Osborne Brothers.
