BENNETT, ROLLIN ALVIN JR. “JUNIOR” (1947-1993)

Junior Bennett was an excellent fiddle player who played with Bobby Grove, Dave Rich, George Jones, Ray Price, and in Las Vegas with Judy Lynn’s big show band. When he came to Cincinnati, he played on sessions at Jewel Records, eventually becoming the recording engineer there. He could play any kind of music, including country, bluegrass, and soul, and could stack various fiddle parts on a record to give the illusion of a string section. He was also a recording engineer at Artist’s Recording in Cincinnati, an arranger, and a producer. He was part of the highly regarded Cincinnati country band Cheyenne. He had at least one LP and one single under his own name. Junior Bennett’s life ended in a tragic auto accident near Louisville, Kentucky.
