Bluegrass Special

A bluegrass band active around the Dayton area in the mid 1970s, Bluegrass Special included John Lipot and John Noftsger on guitars, Tony Lewis on banjo, Del Holt on mandolin, and Joe Karns on bass. They had an LP on King Bluegrass Records in 1976 titled Mountains, Music, and Memories and a single on Karbro under the names of John Lipot and John Noftsger. They played at the Dry Dock Lounge in the Town and Country Shopping Center in Kettering and at the Open Door in the Grant Deneau Tower at 40 West Fourth Street in downtown Dayton.
