Classic Country Connection

The Classic Country Connection store was originally located at 500 West Second Street in Xenia but later moved to 23 East Second Street, in the building occupied by radio station WBZI. After Joe Mullins acquired WBZI in the mid-1990s, the station was playing classic country and bluegrass music. A need arose to let listeners know where they could purchase the music they heard on the air. Since there were very few sources for bluegrass and country music in the area, it was decided to open a retail outlet in conjunction with the radio station. The Classic Country Connection, operated by the Mullins family, stocked reissues of older country and bluegrass music on CD, including Bear Family box sets plus current country and bluegrass and country CDs. The store ceased operation in 2021.
