DAVIS, DANNY LEE

Danny Davis grew up in Fairborn. He and his dad, Elzie Davis, appeared on the WYSO Country Jamboree many times. Elzie played fiddle and Danny played banjo. Danny went on to play with Sammy Adkins, Larry Efaw, and Ralph Stanley. He appeared in Dayton with Ralph at the Dayton Masonic Center and at the Fairborn Opry with his own band in 2014. He is seen frequently on the Cumberland Highlanders Show on RFD-TV. He recorded a CD in 2006 titled Coal Black Rock, backed by the Clinch Mountain Boys, and one in 2009 titled The Long Goodbye. He is the singer on the TV commercials for YellaWood wood products in 2016.
