Emery Auditorium
The Emery Auditorium, constructed in 1911, was the home of the Cincinnati Symphony for 24 years. It is located at 1112 Walnut Street in the Over the Rhine area of Cincinnati. It originally had 2,211 seats with two balconies and what was reputed to be almost perfect acoustics. The Boone County Jamboree was broadcast live from there in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Riders in the Sky performed their Riders Radio Theater there in the early 1990s. Ralph Stanley has appeared there. The Emery has fallen into disuse and there is talk of doing something with it other than its original use. This has raised interest in preservation, but in 2016 nothing is happening because of pending lawsuits.
