EVANS, DAVE (1950-)

Dave Evans, born in Portsmouth, played banjo for Earl Taylor, Larry Sparks, Red Allen, the Boys from Indiana, and the Goins Brothers before starting his own band, River Bend, in 1978. Also a noted songwriter, Evans has performed some of the most soulful vocals ever in southwestern Ohio bluegrass. He has recorded for Vetco and, since 1981, for Rebel. His “One Loaf Of Bread” is a classic.
