FOX, JON HARTLEY

Born in Dayton, Jon Fox was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic deejay at WYSO in the 1970s. He worked in radio for around ten years and produced a series of programs for NPR which presented the history of King Records. He also worked for some independent record companies and relocated to California, where he wrote record reviews and liner notes, wrote about music and the arts, and did some lecturing. He received the Best Liner Notes Award from the IBMA in 1996 and 2005. In 2009, University of Illinois Press published his book, King of the Queen City: the Story of King Records.
