HOSKINS, CHARLIE

Charlie Hoskins plays guitar, bass, and banjo. In the 1970s, he worked with Jim McCall and Vernon McIntyre in the Appalachian Grass. He went on to play with Earl Taylor for several years. In 2002, he recorded with the Bluegrass Legends, playing bass and doing some of the lead singing with his wife, Wilma Lehart Hoskins, singing tenor. Charlie and Wilma issued a CD of their own in the early 2000s on Crosscut Records. In the early 2010s, he was in Florida playing guitar and singing lead with the Palmetto Ramblers. In 2016, he was back in Ohio, appearing first with the Willow Creek Band and later with the Vintage Ramblers
