HOWARD, BILL

A long-time member of the Dixie Ryders, Bill Howard plays both three-finger and clawhammer style banjo. In 1981, he and Delbert Holt recorded a single on the Tri-O label where he gets to demonstrate his clawhammer style on “Little Birdie.” With the Dixie Ryders, he also recorded “Things Of Life” (sic, the actual title is “Things in Life”) and “Mule To Ride,” two more clawhammer numbers.
