JACKSON, RONALD “RON” or “RONNIE”

Raised in Beattyville, Kentucky, Ron Jackson grew up loving the banjo and became proficient at playing it. He played with Zeke Hoskins and the Country Gospel-Aires and on record sessions. In the 1970s, he was a member of Buck Owens’s Buckaroos, appearing on Hee-Haw and playing banjo on Buck’s bluegrass album, Ruby. He also loved western movies and TV shows, which evolved into writing a book: Classic TV Westerns, published by Citadel Press.
