Kentucky Bluegrass Gospel Singers
The Kentucky Bluegrass Gospel Singers had their beginning as the Kentucky Gospel Trio, which consisted of Reverend Carl Howard playing guitar and singing lead, his daughter Rosemary Howard playing bass and singing tenor, and Bill Beavers on banjo and singing bass. After cutting a single record and an album at Rusty York’s Jewel Studio in Cincinnati, they expanded into the Kentucky Bluegrass Gospel Singers, which included the three original members plus Charles Watts on mandolin and Bessie Combs as a solo singer on their second album. The group appeared around the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area, as well as traveling into other areas of Kentucky.
