Labor Temple

The Labor Temple was a union hall on the east side of Wayne Avenue in Dayton. It was the home of the Dayton Barn Dance, which was run by DJ Tommy Sutton in the early 1950s. One hour of the show was broadcast on WING during 1953. Red Allen and Frank Wakefield appeared on the Dayton Barn Dance very early in their careers. Later on, Les Bodine ran a barn dance show from that location. Glenn and Vivian Watson were one of the acts that appeared there at that time.
