Lake Jewelry

Lake Jewelry, at 215 South Main Street in Franklin, was founded by Wilbur “Red” Lake and operated by his widow Betty and their two sons, Steve and Gary, after his death. Because of Red’s love of bluegrass and country music, Lake Jewelry began to carry records and eventually had by far the largest selection of bluegrass and country LPs and 45s in the Dayton/Cincinnati area, eventually moving into CDs. They also sold instruments and strings, as well as jewelry. After 50-plus years in business, they finally closed their doors.
