Ma Crow and the Lady Slippers

Formed in 2011 in Cincinnati this all-female bluegrass band has become a fixture on the local scene and by 2016 had released three CDs. Wayward Daughter came out in 2013, Memory of a Mountain in 2014, and Black Wings in 2015. Members of the group are Ma Crow, who sings lead and plays guitar; Trina Emig, who plays banjo; fiddle player Margie Drees; and bassist Vicki Abbott. All are veteran bluegrass performers. They have played all around the Cincinnati area as well as venues in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. In 2013, they appeared on the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour in Lexington, Kentucky.
