MURPHY, RON (1947-2014)

In the 1970s, Ron Murphy played bass in the Hagan Brothers Band and then organized his own Muddy River, which was a little more jazzy and progressive than most of the bluegrass bands around Dayton at the time. He and his wife Lora ran the sound for many bluegrass festivals, both locally and nationally, and promoted some bluegrass shows.
