In 2006 Joe Mullins decided to put together a band to entertain at various promotions sponsored by his radio station WBZI in Xenia. The band became very popular and started doing personal appearances in addition to the ones they were doing for the radio station. This gradually expanded into appearances at bluegrass festivals around the country. In 2016 they were scheduled to do an overseas tour. They recorded their first CD in 2007, and through early 2016 they had released five more CDs. They were picked as IBMA’s Emerging Artist of the Year in 2012 and have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry numerous times. The original members of the Radio Ramblers were Joe Mullins on banjo, Adam McIntosh on guitar, Mike Terry on mandolin, Evan McGregor on fiddle, and Tim Kidd on bass. Mullins, McIntosh, and Terry were all capable of singing lead as well as the harmony parts, and this gave them a very polished sound in their harmony. In early 2013 Adam McIntosh left and Duane Sparks joined the group on guitar. Later that year Tim Kidd left and Andy Barnes came aboard to play bass. Evan McGregor left in 2015 and Jason Barie joined on fiddle.
