Sloas Brothers

The Sloas Brothers: Kenny, Dave, and John were born in eastern Kentucky and were active in southwestern Ohio for a time, when Dave was living in Fairborn. They recorded two LPs: I’m Going Home Again for Rem in 1967 and Memories of the Past for Lemco in 1976. They recorded a single on Still as the Dixie Playboys. They also wrote songs, most notably “Sea Of Regret” and “Those Two Blue Eyes,” recorded by Keith Whitley and Ricky Skaggs; “Sea of Regret,” recorded by Ralph Stanley; and “I’m Going Home Again,” recorded by Longview. Elliott County, Kentucky paid tribute to them by naming one of the county’s roads The Sloas Brothers Memorial Highway.
